According to SEO Glossary and Dictionary, link popularity is a search engine optimization (SEO) terminology that describes the popularity value of a particular website, where the measurement is based on the quantity of quality hyperlinks that points towards the website. Link popularity is one of extremely important factors contribute towards the relevancy of a website in a search engine results page (SERP). Most of the top search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo! rank a web page or a website according to its link popularity. For example, link popularity is a factor in determining Google PageRank, which is one of the factors used by Google to determine where a page is ranked in a search engine results page (SERP).
